Tiger Woods takes a two-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Farmers Insurance Open in California.

Tiger Woods recorded a seven-under-par round of 65 to take control of the Farmers Insurance Open in California.

The world number two was in superb form in hitting six birdies and an eagle to open up a two-shot advantage over Billy Horschel.

Horschel produced a round of 69 to stay ahead of a group of six players who finished the second round on eight-under-par.

First round leaders Choi Kyung-Ju and Brandt Snedeker failed to capitalise on their early advantage as both dropped down the leaderboard.

Choi fell down to 16th place after a one-over-par 73, while Snedeker went as far down as 31st after recording a round of 75.
