Westwood treating Players like a Major

Lee Westwood has said that he will go into the final two rounds of the Players Championship with a "Major championship-style mentality".

The Englishman is just two shots off the pace of halfway leader Sergio Garcia. He is yet to bogey a hole after 36 at TPC Sawgrass, a course that he says he loves.

"I love this golf course, always have," said Westwood, who was fourth in 2010 at what is considered 'the fifth Major'.

"It's a golf course I always feel like I can see a way around.

"It will be sort of like a Major championship-style mentality to go out there and play disciplined golf this weekend and not attack flags when they shouldn't be attacked. I enjoy that kind of golf. It's very rewarding if you play well."

Rounds of 66 and 69 put Westwood, 40, on nine-under alongside Henrik Stenson of Sweden and American Kevin Chappell.
