Rory McIlroy misses cut at Wentworth Club

Rory McIlroy has missed the cut at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The world number one, who started the day on two-over-par, carded a round of 79 to leave him on nine-over at the end of Friday.

"I will have to go and work really hard to get my game back to the level it was before the Masters," he said.

"I will go and chat to my team and make sure I am ready for the next few weeks. It is just putting the time in on the range and hitting a lot of balls."

England's James Morrison is top of the leaderboard going into the weekend on 12-under.
