Raphael Jacquelin replaces the injured Alvaro Quiros for the week's Seve Trophy in Paris.

Raphael Jacquelin has received a late call-up to the Continental European squad for this week's Vivendi Seve Trophy in the place of Spaniard Alvaro Quiros.

A wrist injury has forced Quiros to pull of the team to take on Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Paris.

Frenchman Jacquelin was next in line off the European Tour money list and the 37-year-old has accepted the invitation to play in front of his home crowd.

"He wanted to play and to be able to honour the memory of Seve [Ballesteros]. However, his wrist injury hadn't healed sufficiently for him to compete," said team captain Jean van de Velde.

"He would have been a big asset to my team. He is a wonderful player and a great character and we are both disappointed that he won't make it.

"Having said that, Raphael Jacquelin is an outstanding player as he proved in three previous Seve Trophies when he collected eight and a half points."

This will be Jacquelin's fourth appearance at the Seve Trophy, having competed in 2002, 2003 and 2007.
