Luke Donald says that the Masters represents his best chance of clinching a major championship.

World number one Luke Donald believes that the Masters is his "best chance" of winning a major.

Donald, who climbed back above Rory McIlroy with victory in the Transitions Championship last month, said that he goes to Augusta National full of confidence.

"I've always felt The Masters offers me maybe my best chance of winning a major because it puts such a demand on your short game, especially your putting," The Sun quotes the 34-year-old as saying.

"Yes, you know you are going to miss a fair few of these greens, but I've got enough faith in my short game to back myself to get up and down most times."

Donald's best finish at the Masters saw him tie for third in 2005.
