Westwood fit for British Open

English Major hope Lee Westwood has revealed that he will be fit for next week's British Open after recovering from a slight injury scare.

The former world number one suffered a minor groin strain when he slipped on his way to the first tee during the French Open last week.

"I'm fine. There's no problem. It was a slight strain and it's a lot easier now," he said.

"It won't be a factor when Royal Lytham comes round."

Westwood finished tied for second at the 2010 championship at St Andrews.
