Ernie Els tips Lee Westwood, Luke Donald for major success at Lytham

Els tips Westwood, Donald for Open success

Ernie Els would not be surprised to see Lee Westwood or Luke Donald lift the Claret Jug at the British Open next week.

Neither Brit has yet claimed a major Tour title, but Els believes that it is only a matter of time before they break their ducks.

"Lee's really paid his dues. If there's one man that deserves one it's him," said Els. "I wouldn't say he's running out of time. He's as strong as an ox, working out and doing all the right things.

"He's been doing that for quite some time, but it just hasn't fallen his way for some other reasons. It could be his week, Lytham is a ball-striker's dream and he's a ball-striker.

"[Donald] is number one in the world and when he's on his game he's one of the best drivers of the ball. It's all there, it's just a matter of a bit of luck falling your way and making the right putts."

Els has three Major titles to his name - the US Open in 1994 and 1997, and the British Open in 2002.
