Day withdraws from British Open

Jason Day has decided to pull out of next week's British Open.

The Australian will instead stay at home with his wife, who has just given birth to the couple's first child.

No replacement has yet been confirmed for the world number 21, who finished runner-up in The Masters and US Open last year.

American Webb Simpson may also withdraw as his wife is expecting their second child.
