Formula 1's tyre manufacturer, Pirelli, have said that they would offer former Renault driver Robert Kubica a testing role to help him get back into the sport.
The Polish driver has been out of action since a rallying accident last year and only returned to rallying this month as he looks to build up functionality in his right hand.
"We're more likely to work with Robert in rallying I guess rather than F1 at the moment," said Pirelli's Paul Hembery.
"But we'll see, I haven't spoken to Robert for some time but we are working on a few projects that might involve him. That might well be a possibility.
"I don't know if he's able to do it at the moment but it's that type of person; if physically he could get back in then maybe doing a year with us would put him in a good situation to come back in 2014 and that would be wonderful if we could do that."
Pirelli use the 2010 Renault car to test their rubber so Kubica, if he gets back to full fitness, would be able to get used to the new tyre compounds in a familiar vehicle.
