Nico Rosberg takes pole in shortened qualifying at United States Grand Prix

Nico Rosberg will start in pole position at the United States Grand Prix with Lewis Hamilton in second.

The third qualifying session was cancelled due to thunderstorms so times from the second qualifying session were taken.

Mercedes completed a front row lockout with Lewis Hamilton trailing his teammate by a tenth of a second.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo finished a second back and will start in third with Daniil Kvyat in fourth.

The Ferrari pair of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth and eighth respectively, but will start in 15th and 18th after picking up 10-place grid penalties.
