Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has recorded the fastest time in the first practice session ahead of Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo were fourth and fifth respectively in the Red Bull, while Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne was a surprise sixth.

Alonso's teammate Kimi Raikkonen was seventh-fastest, with McLaren driver Jenson Button close behind in eighth position.
