Mercedes boss Ross Brawn has revealed that the Formula 1 team will not be rushed into making a decision on the future of driver Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher's contract comes to an end after the current season and the German, who is currently 48 points behind teammate Nico Rosberg, and his team have yet to agree on a new deal.
However, Brawn has said that a decision of the importance of a contract offer will be made in due course.
"I think this is a very important decision for all the people involved," Brawn told formula1.com.
"We won't be rushed on the decision and when the time is appropriate we will announce what we are going to do. I don't want to increase speculation by commenting on where we are."
Schumacher has made the podium only once in two-and-a-half seasons since his F1 return in 2010.
