Mercedes eye deal for young Mick Schumacher?

Mick Schumacher emerges as a target for Formula 1 champions Mercedes, according to a report.

Mercedes are reportedly looking to beat Formula 1 rivals Ferrari to the signature of Michael Schumacher's son.

The teenager tested for Formula 3 team Prema earlier this month and their close links to the Scuderia fuelled speculation that Mick Schumacher would follow in his father's footsteps and race for the Italian outfit.

However, Kolner Express has claimed that Mercedes have invited Schumacher Jr to an end-of-season event at the company's Stuttgart headquarters.

Furthermore, it is thought that the Silver Arrows are keen on recruiting the 16-year-old and his current Formula 4 team Van Amersfoort are believed to be moving to Mercedes engines from next year.

Schumacher Sr ended his racing career with Mercedes in 2012.
