Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton hopes next five races are best of his career

Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton says that the next five races need to be the best of his career as he targets the world title.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is determined to be on top of his game for the next five races as he bids to win the world title.

The 29-year-old is currently leading his teammate Nico Rosberg by three points after winning the Singapore Grand Prix on September 21.

Hamilton and Rosberg, who have had a spiky relationship this season, will race in this Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

"If I don't do any more races in my whole life as good, these next five races have to be the ones," The Guardian quotes Hamilton as saying.

"I'm just going to try and do the same things I did this last two weekends which is really just attacking every practice session, hope that we have clean weekends, getting those poles and getting those wins in."

Hamilton has won seven races in the F1 season so far.
