Hamilton sets sights on winning "unique" Monaco GP

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that winning the Monaco Grand Prix is "unique and special in its own way".

Formula 1 comes to Monaco for the sixth weekend of the 2013 season and Hamilton looks on course for a strong weekend in the Mediterranean principality.

The Englishman's silver arrow is looking quick around the streets of Monte Carlo but he was pipped by teammate Nico Rosberg in both practice sessions yesterday.

"Monaco is spectacular," said Hamilton, now a Monaco resident, who won the race in 2008 on the way to his only world championship to date.

"I don't feel like it's like any other race. Winning here is unique and special in its own way.

"When you do win here, when you finally get that, you have the most incredible feeling, and every time you come here that's what you're chasing for."

You can follow the 28-year-old's progress along with the other 21 drivers in qualifying here on Sports Mole from 12.30pm.
