Lewis Hamilton denies Nico Rosberg rift

Lewis Hamilton insists that there is no animosity between him and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg following the latter's victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has insisted that there are no lingering problems between himself and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg.

Rosberg ended Hamilton's run of four consecutive victories with success in the Monaco Grand Prix today, but the atmosphere between the two after the race was tense, with the Englishman initially refusing to answer questions about his relationship with his teammate.

The animosity is understood to have stemmed from an incident in qualifying earlier this week, but Hamilton claims that they have already cleared the air.

"We've sat down and cleared whatever air was needed to be cleared, and we've been through the data and seen what needed to be seen. I wish you guys could see it," Hamilton told reporters.

"Otherwise, we're good. It was a difficult weekend, but what doesn't break you will make you stronger. I can only get stronger for this weekend."

The win in Monaco sees Rosberg climb back to the top of the driver rankings, leapfrogging Hamilton.
