Hamilton: 'Mercedes will bounce back'

Lewis Hamilton has said that Mercedes will bounce back after Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel took victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Hamilton won the opening race of the season with ease, with teammate Nico Rosberg finishing second, but former world champion Vettel won in Malaysia by eight seconds.

"I don't think it is a one-off," Hamilton told The Mirror. "No fluke or luck in it, they just did a solid job.

"Everyone, regardless whether you are winning can always do with, not a kick, a pinch. It's given us a pinch today and now we know we've got a race on our hands. We are a racing team we've got the best and we'll be quicker at the next race.

"It wasn't a bad day at the office. It was damage limitation. If this was a bad day and we got second and third that's pretty good for the team."

Hamilton is expected to sign a new Mercedes contract this week.
