No surprises in first practice at Hungarian Grand Prix

No surprises in first practice session

Lewis Hamilton has recorded the fastest time in the first practice session ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Reigning world champion Hamilton edged out teammate Nico Rosberg to ensure that Mercedes once more took a tight hold on things in Bucharest.

The session was overshadowed by a crash early on, however, which saw Sergio Perez dramatically flip his Force India car after the right front tyre appeared to dig in.

Perez emerged unscathed, but the red flag was out for a second time when Kimi Raikonnen ran on to the kerb at Turn 12, causing his front wing to drop off which he drove over to puncture his tyre.

Hamilton and Rosberg went about their business at the top end of things, though, and they took the top two spots ahead of Ferrari's Raikonnen in a bizarre opening session.
