Lewis Hamilton top in second practice session at Chinese Grand Prix

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton edges out Kimi Raikkonen at the Shanghai International Circuit to claim double practice joy in China.

Lewis Hamilton has come out on top in the second practice session ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, although his impressive showing was somewhat overshadowed by a spectator crossing the track.

The Mercedes driver, who also topped the standings in FP1, finished half a second clear of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen.

Nico Rosberg had to settle for fifth place, meanwhile, having being pipped by Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Hamilton led teammate Rosberg by a tenth of a second when a spectator accessed the track on the pit straight and ran across to the pitwall between cars, before climbing into the pitlane where he was eventually apprehended.

Elsewhere, Williams's Felipe Massa had a minor scare when he spun at the end of the long back straight, although only minimal damage was caused to his car.
