Rosberg edges out Hamilton for pole

Nico Rosberg has qualified for the Canadian Grand Prix in pole position having edged out Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in Montreal.

Hamilton, who was quickest in the second and third practice sessions, struggled in the middle sector of the qualifier to finish 0.079 seconds off Rosberg.

The German has never previously started higher than fourth in Canada, but he will lead the way during tomorrow's race after a strong final lap on the Gilles Villeneuve track. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel finished in third place, while Williams' duo Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa completed the top five.
