Bianchi being treated by Schumacher's brain specialist

The brain specialist who treated Michael Schumacher has been brought in to help Jules Bianchi's recovery from the injury that he suffered at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Bianchi remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital following the crash at Suzuka which is being described as the worst Formula 1 has seen in 20 years.

His family revealed yesterday that the 25-year-old had been diagnosed with a diffuse axonal injury and have asked Professor Gerard Saillant to to act as an intermediary between them and the doctors caring for him.

Saillant, who advised over the treatment of seven-time world champion Schumacher after his ski accident in December, flew to Japan on Monday and has headed for the Yokkaichi hospital where Bianchi has been since Sunday's race.

There has been no change in the Marussia drivers' overnight condition, from which there is a low recovery rate.
