Sebastian Vettel has qualified on pole for the Italian Grand Prix after topping the timing charts by almost half a second.
The defending world champion will sit alongside Britain's Lewis Hamilton on the front row, who finished 0.45 of a second slower than the German.
Hamilton's fellow countryman and teammate Jenson Button is third, with Fernando Alonso's Ferrari fourth.
Vettel's Red Bull teammate Mark Webber starts the race fifth ahead of Brazilian Felipe Massa.
