Karun Chandhok is "disappointed" not to have been selected by Team Lotus for his home grand prix in India this weekend.

Karun Chandhok has accepted Team Lotus's decision to not let him race in his home Indian Grand Prix this weekend.

The 27-year-old reserve driver was hoping to replace Italian Jarno Trulli for the Norfolk-based team as he did earlier on this season at the German Grand Prix.

"I'm obviously disappointed that I won't be on the grid," he said.

"But I will go to the paddock in Delhi with my head held high.

"It's about the team and everything the 254 people on track and back at the factory are doing to build for the future."

Chandhok had been hoping to represent his country on the grid alongside India's first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, who returns for the Hispania team in place of Vitantonio Liuzzi this weekend.
