James Calado has said that he could become the next British Formula 1 driver.
The 24-year-old, who currently drives in GP2, impressed at last month's young driver test at Silverstone with Force India and is now hoping for a role with the team.
"Doing the Force India test was fantastic. It was amazing to get in a Formula 1 car," Calado told Sky Sports F1. "I was getting evaluated by the team and I would like to say I did a fantastic job.
"I can't hide we are having discussions with Force India. My manager Nicolas Todt is talking to them now, and it's hopefully likely that things will happen in the near future."
Calado went into the GP2 season as favourite for the title but is 45 points behind Italy's Stefano Coletti at the moment.
