Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to be without Max Kilman for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage has suggested that Max Kilman will miss the rest of the season through injury.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed the best campaign of his career, making 30 starts in the Premier League and performing to such a high standard that he has been watched by England boss Gareth Southgate.

However, the centre-back missed last weekend's defeat at Burnley courtesy of a twisted ankle, and Lage has given every indication that one of his star men will not feature again during 2021-22.

Speaking to reporters, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Lage said: "Max twisted his ankle and it will be hard for him to return. He will recover but there is less than a month until the end of the season.

"We need to understand what the problem is and the doctors are doing a fantastic job."

Despite alleged interest from bigger clubs in the Premier League, Kilman is expected to remain at Wolves this summer with over four years remaining on his contract.
