West Ham have remained within five points of leaders Southampton after beating Hull 2-0 this afternoon.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first half of action, with Hammers captain Kevin Nolan picking up a booking inside the first ten minutes.

However, striker Sam Baldock was able to put the visitors ahead within minutes of the second-half whistle to score his fifth goal of the season.

Eight minutes later, Carlton Cole's assist allowed midfielder Jack Collison to double West Ham's lead with a shot to the bottom corner to seal the win.
