Paolo Di Canio: 'My destiny is to manage West Ham United'

Former West Ham United crowd favourite Paolo Di Canio claims that it is his "destiny" to one day return to Upton Park as manager.

Paolo Di Canio believes that it is written in the stars for him to one day return to West Ham United as manager.

The Italian, who was sacked by Sunderland five games into the Premier League season, was a crowd favourite during his four years at Upton Park.

"It is not fair talking about the team at the moment," he told BBC Sport.

"I can only say that one day, one day before the end, before I go up or down, it has to happen. That is the destiny."

Di Canio scored 52 goals in 141 games as a West Ham player between 1999 and 2003.
