West Ham hit by triple injury blow

West Ham United have suffered a triple injury blow, with Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic all ruled out of action.

Englishman Carroll, who underwent surgery on a hairline fracture on Monday, will be sidelined for three months, while Lanzini - who will be out for at least a month - and Arnautovic both suffered hamstring problems.

The news comes after Arnautovic, who had scored six goals in his last 10 matches, had been forming a fruitful relationship with Lanzini up front under David Moyes.

Carroll had been linked with a move to Chelsea, but any potential switch for the forward is now off the cards as the 29-year-old recovers from surgery.

The injury crisis up top means that Javier Hernandez and Toni Martinez are the Hammers' only fully-fit strikers, with Diafra Sako, Andre Ayew and Michail Antonio all working their way back to full fitness.

Mexican international Hernandez could leave the London Stadium, however, after his agent revealed that the 29-year-old is open to an East London exit.
