West Ham United striker Andy Carroll "gutted" to suffer injury setback

Carroll "gutted" about injury setback

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has revealed that Andy Carroll is "gutted" to have suffered an injury setback.

The 27-year-old is expected to be out of action for two weeks after picking up a groin injury during last weekend's 2-2 draw with Norwich City.

It has been an injury-ravaged few years for Carroll, who picked up a hamstring problem not long after returning to action in September following a seven-month spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.

"[The latest injury] is not a big one, it is just a couple of weeks," Bilic told reporters. "We are gutted and he is gutted. It turned out to be minor, but it is still an injury."

This weekend, West Ham will take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
