West Bromwich Albion defender Cristian Gamboa having medical at Celtic?

Celtic have reportedly signalled their intent to secure the signing of West Bromwich Albion defender Cristian Gamboa.

The Scottish giants were known to be in the market for a right-back and it was thought that Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom was likely to move to the club before the end of the transfer window.

However, according to Sky Sports News, manager Brendan Rodgers will push through with the transfer of the Costa Rican international after the two clubs agreed a fee.

Gamboa was signed by the Baggies after he had helped his nation reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup but he has failed to make the breakthrough at The Hawthorns.

In two years in the West Midlands, he has played 11 times in the Premier League with just one of those appearances coming from the start.
