Hodgson admits Baird interest

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that he would like to sign Fulham defender Chris Baird.

However, the boss revealed that Fulham have informed him that the Northern Ireland international is not for sale.

"His name has been mentioned and I said if he was going to be released we would be interested," said Hodgson.

"Then I've been informed Fulham are not releasing him, so he's not available."

Baird, 29, joined Fulham in 2007 from Southampton.
