Ben Foster expects criticism for England U-turn

Ben Foster expects criticism

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has insisted that he stands by his original decision to snub England.

The 29-year-old, who came out of international retirement for this month's World Cup qualifiers, has claimed that he will brush off his critics.

"If people criticise me for wanting to spend more time with my family rather than go away with England, then that is fine," the Daily Star quotes Foster as saying. "Everyone is going to have their opinion. I don't mind that. Football is second to my family without a doubt."

Foster will play second fiddle to Manchester City keeper Joe Hart for England's matches against San Marino and Montenegro.
