Live text coverage of Wigan Athletic's crucial visit to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.

Wigan Athletic visited The Hawthorns on Saturday knowing that they needed to beat West Bromwich Albion to improve their hopes of staying in the Premier League.

Despite falling behind twice, goals from Arouna Kone and James McArthur pulled the Latics back into the game just before the hour mark.

Callum McManaman scored the winner in the 80th minute to give Wigan a 3-2 victory and put pressure on their rivals above them in the table.

Read below to see how the drama unfolded.

2.10pmWigan substitutes: Al Habsi, Caldwell, Di Santo, Henriquez, McArthur, Espinoza, Golobar

2.06pmWigan's task is simple today. They must beat West Brom. Martinez and his team cannot be relegated today but a loss will make staying up close to impossible.

2.07pmWigan: Robles, Kone, McCarthy, Watson, Maloney, Gomez, McManaman, Boyce, Beausejour, Stam, Scharner

2.18pmWest Brom: Foster, Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Yacob, Dorrans, Mulumbu, Long, Rosenberg, Lukaku

2.19pmWest Brom substitutes: Myhill, Tamas, Dawson, Morrison, Odemwingie, Brown, Thomas

2.20pmClarke has named a slightly patched up team for today but with Romelu Lukau and Shane Long in attack they will always cause problems for the opposition.

2.31pmWigan have been hit hard by injuries in the past few weeks but Martinez's side usually produce something special when they need it most. Have they got one more trick up their sleeve to beat the drop again?

2.36pmSupporters of the Latics will be keeping a close eye on their rivals today. Wigan will need a bit of luck at some point this season and make sure you stick with Sports Mole as we bring you coverage of the crucial games in the Premier League today.

2.45pmPlenty of people will believe that West Brom have very little to play for but after seeing them destroy Southampton last weekend, Wigan will surely have a tough task ahead of them today.

2.54pmWe're just over five minutes away from kick off at The Hawthorn so it's prediction time. Wigan need a big performance but I just can't see them taking three points - 2-2.

0 minHere we go then. Wigan get us underway. Big 90 minutes of Premier League football ahead.

2 minWigan have settled into a nice passing rhythm and are flooding the midfield at the moment.

3 minBoyce concedes an early corner but Roble sprints out of his goal to punch clear. Wigan regroup. Stready start to the contest here.

5 minWigan threaten to break through on the counter but McCarthy's progress is halted by a foul from Mulumbu.

6 minWest Brom attempt to pick out Lukaku with two long balls but the Belgian can't catch the wayward passes.

7 minLong shows his pace on the right as he beats two defenders to the ball but he is dispossessed by Beausejour, who tracked back well.

9 minJones whips in an early cross towards the back post and Long drills an effort back across the goal but Robles is alert to easily collect.

10 minYellow card! Ridgewell goes into the book for a poor tackle on McManaman but Wigan fail to make the most of the free kick.

10 minChance! Dorrans stands over a free kick from 25 yards out but his effort is straight at Robles, who holds the strike well.

12 minWest Brom enjoy a good spell of possession on the edge of the box and Dorrans has another chance to shoot at goal but Watson blocks the ball superbly.

13 minWigan attack in numbers but they fail to break down a stubborn West Brom defence, with McAuley easily clearing.

14 minSlightly scary moment for the Wigan defence as Scharner takes his time before conceding a corner under pressure from the dangerous Long.

16 minWigan have their first shot on goal as the ball drops to McManaman 20 yards from the goal but the midfielder's effort is weak and Foster smothers the ball.

18 minChance! Kone is given too much time on the ball and he reacts by firing a shot at goal from 25 yards, forcing Foster to tip the ball behind for a corner. The set piece comes to nothing for the visitors.

19 minBoyce stays in the box following the corner and he aims a header at goal from the back post but he fouls Ridgewell and the hosts have a free kick.

21 minMuch better from Wigan, who have settled down nicely following a nervous start. A good passing move ends with foster collecting a cross from Stam.

22 minDorrans finds Long in plenty of space in the box but the Irish forward misreads Lukaku's run and gives the ball away.

23 minJones shows some attacking intent from right-back as he beats a couple of defenders but his pass is too strong for Lukaku and the move comes to an abrupt end.

25 minWigan seem to be dropping deeper and are inviting pressure from the hosts but a counter attacking tactic could suit Martinez's side. West Brom are beginning to dominate in midfield.

27 minLovely football from Wigan results in Kone working some space for himself in the box before delivering a good cross that McManaman heads wide.

29 minGoal! West Brom 1-0 Wigan (Long)

30 minSuperb move from West Brom as Lukaku releases Rosenberg, who delivers a superb cross for Long to convert for his 11th goal of the season. Nightmare moment for Wigan!

31 minWigan respond very well as Stam fires in a wicked cross but McAuley shows his bravery as he heads clear under pressure from Kone. Wigan win the corner but Foster collects the ball easily.

33 minMcManaman beats Dorrans with a good piece of skill but Ridgewell produces a brilliant tackle to dispossess the midfielder. West Brom break in numbers and Long is inches away from scoring a second as Jones whips a cross in just beyond the forward's reach.

35 minLong is a constant threat to the Wigan defence as he chips the ball over Boyce before advancing on goal. However, the defender recovers well to clear the ball away for a corner.

36 minChance! Maloney wins a free kick just outside the are and chooses to take the shot himself. The effort is superb but it flies just wide of Foster's post.

37 minChance! McCarthy loses the ball in midfield and Rosenberg can pick out Lukaku but the forward struggles to bring the ball down and shoots wide.

39 minGoal! West Brom 1-1 Wigan (Kone)

40 minWigan hit back before half time! Beausejour delivers an inch-perfect cross and Kone leaps high to head past a helpless Foster. Huge goal for the Latics.

43 minWe're being treated to a very exciting contest at The Hawthorns this afternoon. A slow start has been forgotten thanks to a couple of superb moves from both sides.

44 minBeausejour is tackled on the edge of the box by Dorrans, who immediately fires a long ball towards long but the pass is too strong and Robles is alert to come to collect the ball.

45+1 minSuperb passing move from Wigan has the Baggies chasing shadows but they breathe a sigh of relief as McManaman's deflected shot flies over the crossbar.

45+2 minWigan win a free kick just before the break but they fail to take an advantage. That's the end of an entertaining first period as the referee blows his whistle.

3.51pmHow big could that Kone goal be? West Brom took the lead with that well worked goal from Long but Kone's superb header has changed the game just before the break. However, it's three points rather than one that Wigan need this afternoon.

3.55pmHere's the other half-time scores in the Premier League:
Fulham 0-1 Reading
Norwich 0-0 Villa
Swansea 0-0 Man City
West Ham 0-0 Newcastle
Latest: Spurs 0-0 Southampton

3.59pmMy prediction is looking pretty good at the moment and it does feel like there are more goals in this game. West Brom are regularly slicing open the Wigan defence but they must make better choices in front of goal.

46 minWest Brom get the second half underway. Martinez knows the importance of the next 45 minutes for Wigan but will the Baggies put another nail in the coffin?

47 minWigan start the second half well and it's McManaman who carries the biggest threat again as he tricks his way into the box but the ball gets stuck underneath his feet and the hosts clear.

50 minGoal! West Brom 2-1 Wigan (McAuley)

51 minBeausejour concedes a free kick on the right side of midfield and he’s immediately punished for his error. Dorrans whips in a dangerous cross and McAuley is given far too much room to head in from eight yards out.

58 minGoal! West Brom 2-2 Wigan (McArthur)

59 minWigan hit back again! A double substitution works for the visitors as one of the replacements, McArthur, heads in an inviting cross from McManaman at the back post.

61 minApologies for the delay between posts there as we dealt with a few gremlins in our system. It's end to end stuff at The Hawthorns now as McAuley heads over from a corner.

63 minThere's a few substitutions to tell you about. James McArthur and Roman Golobart came on to replace McCarthy and Stam while James Morrison and Jerome Thomas have replaced Rosenberg and Lukaku.

65 minChance! Wigan need a win and they've just wasted a big opportunity to move ahead in this game. Kone loses his marker but somehow manages to head over from eight yards.

68 minIt's Wigan who look the more comfortable of the two sides now as we enter the final quarter of this contest. I must say I'm surprised Lukaku and Rosenberg have been brought off. Rosenberg looked very dangerous in attack for the hosts.

70 minMcAuley produces some superb defending to deny Kone and end what looked like a very promising move for Wigan.

72 minThere's a break in play as Beausejour goes down with an injury. He can't continue and is replaced by Roger Espinoza. The injuries just keep coming for Wigan.

75 minYellow card! Wigan break in numbers but the attack is ended when Maloney is hauled down by McAuley, who is rightly booked for the challenge. Maloney's free kick is too strong and it goes behind for a goal kick.

77 minOnce again Wigan have retreated but West Brom seem to be lacking an attacking edge at the moment.

78 minThomas attempts to chip the ball towards the back post but his pass is blocked and despite some calls for handball, the referee decides against awarding a penalty.

80 minGoal! West Brom 2-3 Wigan (McManaman)

81 minWhat an important goal from McManaman! Maloney shows some superb skill to dance his way into the area before drilling in a cross towards his teammate, who smashes the ball home from close range.

82 minSuperb celebrations following that goal. Surely Wigan can't make another great escape, can they? Eight minutes plus stoppage time left at The Hawthorns.

84 minWigan must be careful now. The visitors have dropped back but they must continue to be positive in the closing stages. West Brom are controlling possession but they're being met by some stubborn defending.

85 minChance! Mulumbu picks the ball up just inside the box but his curled effort flies wide of the far post.

86 minMulumbu has put in a great shift in midfield today and he's given a rest as 16-year-old Isaiah Brown comes on for the final few minutes.

87 minWest Brom are piling on the pressure now as Morrison unleashes a shot from outside the box but his effort is blocked and Wigan eventually win a free kick.

89 minChance! Dorrans hits a superb half-volley from 25 yards out to force Robles into a smart save. The goalkeeper isn't given much of a rest though as he flicks a Ridgewell header over the crossbar just moments later.

90 minThere will be five minutes of added time. Watch those nails Wigan fans.

90+1 minWigan have the opportunity to break but Kone turns back and decides to keep the ball instead. The move breaks down and West Brom regain possession.

90+2 minThere's an appeal for a penalty as Jones goes down under a challenge from Espinoza at the back post. Nothing given and Wigan survive.

90+4 minYellow card! Brown is booked for a poor challenge on McArthur but Wigan choose against delivering the free kick into the box.

90+5 minChance! West Brom are close to equalising as Ridgewell heads towards goal with Robles stranded but McArthur heads the ball off the line.

4.57pmFull-time: West Brom 2-3 Wigan

4.58pmNow breathe! What a superb game at The Hawthorns. Wigan went behind twice and it looked like they would move closer to relegation but McManaman's winner means the Latics may beat the drop again.

5.00pmWigan remain in the bottom three but are now only two points behind Sunderland above them. Can Martinez do it again? Only time will tell but on this evidence you'd be foolish to rule out anything.

5.01pmThanks for joining me on another dramatic afternoon in the Premier League. Goodbye everyone.
