Jonathan Hogg has joined Watford from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth and will now remain in the Championship with Sean Dyche's Hornets.
"Everyone at the club wishes Jonathan well and every success in his career," Villa manager Alex McLeish told the club's official website.
"Jonathan has a great attitude and we know he will do very well as a player at Watford."
Hogg has gone straight into the Watford squad to face Birmingham City at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.
