Udinese pair join Watford

Watford have announced that they have signed two players from Italian side Udinese.

Striker Mathias Ranegie joins for an undisclosed fee, while Alexander Merkel comes in on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Since the Hornets were bought by the Pozzo family in 2012, 16 players have swapped Stadio Friuli for Vicarage Road.

Watford currently sit 14th in the Championship table.
