Ashley Williams: 'Aaron Ramsey congratulated me on captaincy'

Williams reveals Ramsey talks

Swansea City and Wales defender Ashley Williams has revealed that former Welsh captain Aaron Ramsey has given him his blessing to take the skipper's role.

Williams was chosen by manager Chris Coleman to take the national side forward, which resulted in the demotion of Arsenal midfielder Ramsey.

"I have spoken to Aaron," Wales Online quotes Williams as saying. "He said congratulations and we kind of laughed about it. It is no big deal and we get on fine."

Wales, who have yet to win a 2014 World Cup qualifier this year, take on Scotland and Croatia during the international period.
