Robbie Savage blasts Wales

Robbie Savage says that Wales are a "laughing stock" after their 6-1 defeat to Serbia.

Robbie Savage has slammed Wales and labelled his home nation as a "laughing stock" after their loss to Serbia.

The Welsh were smashed 6-1 by their Group A opponents in their World Cup qualifying meeting on Tuesday night, which was their heaviest defeat in 16 years.

The Dragons sit bottom of the group after losing 2-0 at home to Belgium last week, and Savage says that his country are "embarrassing".

"I thought Wales were very, very poor and took you back to the days where you are a laughing stock," said former Wales international Savage.

"It's like we are going to places like Serbia, knowing we are going to get beat.

"Before the game, against Belgium with 10 men on the pitch, they did OK, but going to Serbia and getting beat by six, it takes you back to those days. It was embarrassing."

Savage earned 39 caps for Wales.
