Preview: Valenciennes vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole looks ahead to Paris Saint-Germain's trip to Ligue 1 strugglers Valenciennes on Wednesday night.

Sunday's 1-1 draw with Monaco has left champions Paris Saint-Germain second in the Ligue 1 table with six matches played.

However, if they overcome Valenciennes on Wednesday evening and Monaco lose against Bastia, then Laurent Blanc's side will move to the top of the standings.

They will have to make do without the services of Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva, who the club confirmed earlier today has suffered a thigh muscle injury. His fellow countryman and defender Alex is also a doubt for the trip to Northern France.

With that in mind, Zoumana Camara has been tipped to partner youngster Marquinhos at the heart of the defence. Elsewhere, Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore could also come into the midfield.

Meanwhile, hosting Valenciennes, who will start the contest in 19th place, are likely to include former Liverpool attacker Anthony Le Tallec in their starting lineup.

PSG last lost to their hosts back in May 2009 - a run that stretches back 10 matches.
