Anthony Le Tallec ruled out for six weeks

Valenciennes will be without Anthony Le Tallec for the next six weeks due to a torn hamstring.

Valenciennes striker Anthony Le Tallec will miss up to six weeks of action after suffering a torn hamstring.

The former Liverpool man was forced off late on during his side's 1-0 defeat to Lille on Saturday and has since undergone an MRI scan.

Les Atheniens, who currently sit 18th and two points off the bottom of Ligue 1, are now likely to be without the 29-year-old for a tricky run of fixtures over the next month.

Valenciennes face top-half sides Nantes, Guingamp, Bordeaux and AS Monaco before the end of 2013 and clash with Bastia and Marseille in early January.

Le Tallec has scored just one goal in 12 appearances for Valenciennes this season.
