Chimbonda joins non-league side

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Pascal Chimbonda has joined non-league outfit Market Drayton on a non-professional contract basis.

The 34-year-old, who left Doncaster Rovers last year, had a trial with Tranmere Rovers, but has opted to join the Northern Premier League Division One South side.

"I'm very happy to help out at Market Drayton because they are giving me a chance to play again," BBC Sport quotes Chimbonda as saying.

The club is said to lure an average attendance of 100.
