Wednesday morning's La Liga transfer talk news roundup:

Arsenal 'eye loan deals for Isco, Julian Draxler'

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up loan moves for midfielders Isco and Julian Draxler in the January transfer window if they are unable to sign any of their primary targets on permanent deals.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering his squad this month and is hoping to sign a creative midfielder, with Norwich City playmaker Emiliano Buendia one player on the Spaniard's radar.

However, the £40m price tag for the Argentinian would be a non-starter for the Gunners, who are strapped for cash and are focused on player departures before any big-money transfers can be considered.

Unless they can adjust their finances, the Daily Mirror reports that a short-term deal for either Isco or Draxler seems a more likely option for Arsenal.

Isco, 28, has played just 357 minutes for Real Madrid this season – providing one assist and failing to score – and has become a peripheral figure under head coach Zinedine Zidane.

Draxler has also struggled to cement a regular place in the starting lineup at Paris Saint-Germain – featuring only nine times for the French champions this campaign – and the 27-year-old's future remains uncertain, following the appointment of former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Arsenal may also have to decide on the future of German midfielder Mesut Ozil before they approach any club over a potential deal in January.

Sergio Ramos 'rejects new Real Madrid contract offer'

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from the club and is now considering his options ahead of a possible exit from the Bernabeu.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane is keen for the 34-year-old, along with Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, to stay at the club beyond the summer of 2021, with the Croatian understood to be the only player to have agreed a new deal.

Marca reports that talks between Ramos's representatives and Real Madrid were held on January 1, with the club offering the defender a one-year contract extension.

The new deal would see him earn more than £10m, but Ramos has rejected the offer from the Spanish giants as he would like a longer contract.

Despite the club being desperate to keep hold of their captain beyond next summer, Los Blancos do not want to budge on their aforementioned policies which include offering players over the age of 30 one-year deals.

Now that the January transfer window is open, Ramos can negotiate with other teams across Europe over a free transfer, with the Spaniard being closely monitored by Manchester City as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Ramos has made over 650 appearances for Real Madrid since joining the club from Sevilla in 2005, and has won five La Liga titles as well as four Champions League triumphs.
