Stuart Pearce: 'We are savouring it'

Team GB boss Stuart Pearce has insisted that his entire team will 'savour every moment' of the 2012 Olympics.

Team GB boss Stuart Pearce has insisted that his entire team will 'savour every moment' of the 2012 Olympics.

Pearce's side, who opened up their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Senegal on Thursday, face the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, needing a win to book their spot in the next round.

"Every single one of us, 18 players, myself and my coaching staff, will cherish this experience for the rest of their lives and want to extend it for as long as we can," Pearce told The Mirror.

"We are savouring every moment. Being part of this environment is fantastic exposure. Everyone is trying to help one another. It is awe-inspiring to be part of a team of over 500 athletes. It makes everyone appreciate there is a bigger picture than just football."

Meanwhile, Craig Bellamy has deemed himself fit for the encounter.
