Marc Janko brace seals Sydney FC victory over Melbourne City

Sydney FC's Marc Janko scored a brace in their 2-1 victory over Melbourne City, netting in each half to cap off his man-of-the-match performance.

Sydney suffered a late scare as Erik Paartalu scored an 88th-minute header from a corner to give the home side hope.

The visitors were down to 10 men shortly after, as Milos Dimitrijevic received a second yellow card for timewasting a minute after conceding.

Sydney saw out the pressure and secured all three points, moving them up to third in the table.

Melbourne stay in the bottom half of the table in sixth place.
