Jefferson Montero ready for challenge of Premier League

Jefferson Montero insists that he can adapt to the physical challenge of playing in the Premier League for Swansea City.

Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero has insisted that he is ready for the physical challenge that awaits him in the Premier League.

The Ecuadorian is yet to be handed a start in the league, but he has dismissed any suggestion that he could find it difficult to adjust if he is targeted by defenders.

"The Premier League is known all over the world because of the physical size of the players and that they are very strong," Montero told reporters. "But if I am given the chance I am ready, and if you want to play, and have quality enough to play, you can do well.

"I am not scared - football is the same everywhere in the world. Everyone has players who can kick you but you believe in your own quality and it is not a problem."

Montero played a key role in the 3-0 victory over Everton in the League Cup on Tuesday.
