Huub Stevens returns to Stuttgart as head coach

Stuttgart announce that Huub Stevens has returned to the club as head coach, replacing Armin Veh.

Stuttgart have confirmed that Huub Stevens has returned to the club as their new head coach.

The Dutchman replaces Armin Veh, who resigned following Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to Augsburg, which leaves them bottom of the Bundesliga.

Stevens took over at Stuttgart last season following the departure of Thomas Schneider, and went on to steer them away from the relegation zone.

"Huub Stevens is the new head coach of VfB," a statement on the club's official website read.

"The 60-year-old takes office with immediate effect and will lead the team training on Tuesday afternoon."

Stevens has also managed Schalke 04, Hamburg, Hertha Berlin and FC Koln during his career.
