Pennant handed eight-week suspended sentence

Jermaine Pennant has been given an eight-week jail sentence suspended for one year by Trafford Magistrates' Court this afternoon.

The Stoke City winger was dealt the punishment after he had pleaded guilty to two driving offences.

He had been accused of drink-driving and driving while disqualified during the early hours of April 29 in Manchester.

Pennant had previously been banned from driving earlier in April for collecting too many points on his licence.
