Peter Crouch has said that he hopes his performance for Stoke City will put him in contention for a place in the England squad for Euro 2012.
Crouch put a dampener on Manchester City's title hopes this weekend with a wonder volley he hailed as one of his best ever goals.
"I knew right from the start when I signed for Stoke that, if I was playing well and scoring goals, I would have a chance of being involved in the England set-up," the striker said.
"There is a huge competition in the summer. I have been fortunate enough to play in two World Cups and have 42 caps for my country.
"I know if I work hard and play well I'll get a chance and hopefully grab it with both hands."
Stoke are currently 12th in the Premier League with 38 points from 30 games.
