Real Madrid ask Jose Mourinho to wait for them?

Real Madrid ask Jose Mourinho to hold off on making any decisions about his future as they weigh up Zinedine Zidane's position as manager, according to a report.

Real Madrid have reportedly asked Jose Mourinho to hold off on making any decisions about his future as they weigh up Zinedine Zidane's position as manager.

Despite the club currently being top of the table in La Liga, there is some discontent relating to their performances in the Champions League which have seen them take just one point from their first two group games.

According to reports in Spain, a poor result in next weekend's Clasico with Barcelona could bring Zidane's second spell in charge at Madrid to an end, with Mourinho their first-choice replacement.

Likewise, it is also believed that the Frenchman is under pressure because of his failure to give enough minutes to players like James Rodriguez and Vinicius Junior.

The report suggests that Real president Florentino Perez spoke with the Portuguese coach recently and urged him not to accept any offer that may come from Tottenham Hotspur because a return to the Spanish capital was on the table.

Mourinho won three titles during his previous spell as coach at Madrid between 2010 and 2013, including the La Liga title in the 2011-12 season.
