Andre Villas-Boas aims to end winless Stamford Bridge streak

Villas-Boas aims to end Stamford Bridge streak

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that he will try to use his knowledge of his former club to help his players when they face Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Villas-Boas endured a turbulent eight-month spell in charge at Chelsea last season before his departure early in 2012, but the 35-year-old is hopeful that his previous experiences can help end Tottenham's 23-year winless streak at Stamford Bridge.

The 35-year-old told reporters: "We tried our luck at Old Trafford, it worked. We managed to change the history and the pattern. We will try the same way against Chelsea.

"The knowledge that I have, I will try to pass it onto my players to see if in any way it can help in the decision-making."

Spurs will move level on points with Chelsea if they can record a victory over their rivals for a top-four place.
