Hugo Lloris: 'Something big happening at Tottenham Hotspur'

Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris says that the future is bright for his side following their 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Hugo Lloris has claimed that "something big is waiting" for Tottenham Hotspur after moving a step closer to securing Champions League football at their new ground.

The Lilywhites strode eight points clear of Chelsea in the race for a top-four finish at the weekend by earning a famous 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham remain without silverware since their 2008 EFL Cup triumph, but they look certain to compete in UEFA's showpiece competition for a third successive season next time out, coinciding with their move to a new state-of-the-art stadium.

Club captain Lloris believes that the future is bright for his side, telling reporters after the win over Chelsea: "Obviously with the new stadium something big is waiting for us.

"We cannot see this future without the Champions League. So this was a good answer, a collective answer and we will keep working hard believe me with the manager we have got. He will be behind us.

"The manager, the players, the club and the fans. I think it has been a few years now where we have worked together and we've improved a lot and we try to put the club in an upper level.

"It is not easy every day but we work hard and with a good philosophy, good energy and I think it makes sense when you see Tottenham play."

Tottenham still have a chance to end their trophy drought this term, meanwhile, as they face Manchester United in the semi-finals of the FA Cup later this month.
